Spring Peeper

Pseudacris crucifer

The spring peeper is a small, slender frog with an X-shaped mark on its back. The general color can be pink, tan, light brown, or gray. This woodland species lives near ponds, streams, or swamps where there is thick undergrowth. Spring peeper abundance is positively associated with increased forest cover. The spring peeper usually remains hidden during the day, becoming active at dusk.
