Andrew Feistel named new conservation agent in Knox County

KNOX COUNTY, Mo. – The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) has appointed Andrew Feistel as the new conservation agent for Knox County. Feistel is among eight new agents of the Department's agent graduate class of 2015.

Feistel served in the United States Air Force for nine years after graduating from high school. While in the Air Force, he received an associate's degree in Applied Science in Survival and Rescue from the Community College of the Air Force. After his military service, he graduated from Liberty University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice.

Originally from Springfield, Feistel says he has always had a love for the great outdoors.

"I started as a volunteer with the Department of Conservation for a year prior to being accepted into the 2015 Conservation Agent Training Class," he says. "I enjoy participating in all types of sports and outdoor activities. I love to deer hunt and am an avid bow hunter, but I also enjoy getting outdoors to hunt or fish anytime I can."

He adds that working for the Missouri Department of Conservation is a great honor and privilege.

"My job as a conservation agent allows me to have a small part in ensuring Missouri's forests, fish, and wildlife are there for Missourians to enjoy now and for generations to come," he says. "As the Knox County conservation agent, I am here to assist in many ways such as hunter education, hunting and fishing clinics, wildlife damage and disease investigations, wildlife habitat management, and lake and pond management just to name a few. I am available to answer any natural-resource-related questions. I am dedicated to protecting Missouri's natural resources and to serving Knox County."
