JEFFERSON CITY Mo – At its Aug. 20 meeting in Jefferson City, the Missouri Conservation Commission approved entering into a contract with Lappe Cement Finishing, Inc. of Perryville for the construction of the Eminence City Park Access Development in Shannon County at a total estimated cost of $353,846.51.
The project is a partnership between the City of Eminence and the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) through the MDC’s Community Assistance Program (CAP). CAP helps communities provide improved fishing opportunities through MDC technical assistance and grant funding for the planning and construction of new facilities or the improvement of existing facilities.
Improvements at the Eminence City Park will include the construction of a 16-foot-wide concrete boat ramp, a 32-foot-wide concrete canoe ramp, concrete access roads, walkways and parking lots, restrooms and security lighting. The City of Eminence will provide demolition and removal of an existing cook shack, bleachers and toilet building.
Grant monies from the federal Sport Fish Restoration Program, administered through the MDC, will fund 75 percent of the project costs.
