Join MDC for an Evening with Wildlife in Bowling Green on March 18

BOWLING GREEN, Mo. — The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) invites the public to discover nature and spend an Evening with Wildlife from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18, at Bowling Green High School, 700 W. Adams St. in Bowling Green. All parts of the event are free and open to the public.

Come out and learn more about the Show-Me State's mammals and fish and MDC's Operation Game Thief program. There will be more than 25 interactive and educational exhibits including turkey calls, eagle and bear interactive displays, firearm safety, common trees in Missouri, elk, helping wildlife on your land, and much more. Certified deer antler scorers will be present to measure trophy whitetails. Plus. there will be a ground cover erosion demonstration at 7 p.m. and a presentation on mountain lions and black bears in Missouri at 7:30 p.m.

Information about various types of outdoor activities at local publicly owned areas will be available from staff working the event. Members from partner organizations including U.S. Army Corp of Engineers, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Services, University of Missouri Extension, and several area businesses will be in attendance hosting informational booths and will be available to answer questions.
