BRANSON, Mo. – Looking at nature’s autumn artwork is a great reason to go for a hike in the fall.

People can enjoy some beautiful Ozarks fall color and learn why the leaves turn color each fall at the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) program “Trees: Fall Color” Nov. 9 at MDC’s Shepherd of the Hills Conservation Center in Branson. The program, which will be 9:30-11 a.m., will begin with a hike to see fall color (and some of the fall wildlife) along the shores of Lake Taneycomo. After the hike, participants will return to the Conservation Center to do leaf rubbings and to learn more about why leaves change color.

The Shepherd of the Hills Conservation Center is part of MDC’s Shepherd of the Hills Hatchery and is located at 483 Hatchery Road on the west end of Lake Taneycomo near Branson.
