Kansas City, Mo. – The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) has announced that Sam Whisler is the new conservation agent assigned to Johnson County. Whisler previously served as the agent in Clay County.

A native of Tipton, Mo., Whisler graduated in 2015 from Missouri State University with a B.S. degree in wildlife conservation and a minor in agronomy. He has also worked for Colorado Parks and Wildlife. When not on duty, he enjoys crappie fishing, hunting, working out, and hiking in the Rocky Mountains.

“I look forward to learning the area and serving the communities in Johnson County,” Whisler said. “It’s exciting to be closer to home while staying in the Kansas City region.”

Agent Whisler can be reached by phone at 660-422-0717 or email at samuel.whisler@mdc.mo.gov.
