UNION, Mo. — Are you an adult who’s never shot a bow and arrow?  Or perhaps it’s been decades since you last picked up a bow?  Archery is a lifetime sport, and it’s never too late to start—or start back up.

The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) is offering a Basic Archery for Adults class Tuesday, Sept. 18, from 5–7:30 p.m. at East Central College, 1964 Prairie Dell Road in Union.  The course will meet in Conference Room B of the Training Center (ECTC) Building.

The class will teach the basics of shooting the bow and arrow, using techniques that have been adopted by the National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP). This course is for individuals 16 years of age or older with the desire to shoot a bow and arrow but have little or no experience. Participants will learn archery shooting fundamentals while gaining knowledge about equipment options and choices. All archery equipment will be provided by MDC.

Online registration is required in advance at https://tinyurl.com/y8sbv35l.  Participants should also call East Central College at 636-584-6529 to confirm registration and to pay a $10 fee to cover the college’s administrative costs.

The class is not recommended for adults with shoulder or back injuries.  Classes will be cancelled in the event of rain or heat more than 90 degrees.
