Kansas City, Mo. – The Missouri Department of Conservation will offer free assistance to hunters with sighting in scopes on deer rifles on Tuesday, Oct. 26. Hunters must call the range to make appointments. They will be paired with a range instructor for the assistance at a time convenient for both.

This program is designed for new hunters or hunters with new equipment they are not familiar with. Sighting-in a rifle involves making adjustments to scopes or sights, and getting the hunter familiar with the gun, so that accurate shots can be made once in the field. Instructors will also review rifle safety, safe storage, maintenance, and shooting fundamentals. MDC can provide equipment and ammunition for instruction, or participants can bring their own.

This event will include target shooting on the range. The program is open to all ages. COVID-19 precautions will be followed.  For more information or to register, call 816-891-9941. To learn more about the Parma Woods Shooting Range, visit https://mdc.mo.gov/parmawoods.
