JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) will offer a free introduction to spring fishing program at Runge Conservation Nature Center April 11.

“As waters warm in Missouri, fish become more active, and hungry,” said MDC Naturalist Sam Stewart. “Come join us and get the inside information directly from the experts on how to target crappie and smallmouth bass in Missouri.”

Runge Nature Center staff welcome special guests Bruce Carpenter and Jeff Trigg, both of Ozark Sweetwater, who will teach about techniques and fishing gear, offer demonstrations, and share favorite fishing holes.

This free program will take place 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, April 11, at Runge Nature Center, 330 Commerce Drive in Jefferson City. All ages are welcome and no registration is necessary. For more information about this program, contact Stewart at (573) 526-5544, ext. 3405, or Sam.Stewart@mdc.mo.gov.
