WARRENSBURG, MO. -- The many ponds, large and small, scattered across the state help make Missouri a great place to fish. Ponds are often easily accessible for fishing from shore and produce exciting catches. Good design and proper management help keep ponds “fishy.”

The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) will host a free pond management workshop on April 12, 5:30 to 8 p.m., at the Trails Regional Library in Warrensburg, 432 N. Holden St.

Topics covered will include fish stocking, fish population management, vegetation control and solutions for pond problems. The workshop is designed for anyone planning to build a new pond, or those needing advice regarding an existing pond.
