SCOTT COUNTY, Mo. – The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) welcomed Conservation Agent Andrew Mothershead to Scott County recently, to replace Conservation Agent Leother Branch who retired in February.
“We’re confident Agent Mothershead will be a great fit for the people and wildlife resources of Scott County,” said Russell Duckworth, MDC’s Protection Division Regional Supervisor.
Mothershead, a native of Benton, has served as a conservation agent for 8 years, working assignments in Saline and Mississippi counties. Agent Mothershead graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Fisheries and Wildlife Sciences.
During his career, Agent Mothershead has received recognition as the 2013 Central Region Hunter Education Instructor of the year, the 2014 Missouri Waterfowl Officer of the year, and the 2017 Southeast Region’s Most Outstanding Conservation Agent award.
“It’s been my career-long goal to come home and serve as the conservation agent assigned to Scott County, and I look forward to representing the Missouri Department of Conservation, our natural resources, and all the communities in Scott County in that role,” Mothershead said.
