St. CHARLES, Mo.—Discover how intriguing nature can be at a time when most people are heading indoors at the Missouri Department of Conservation’s (MDC) August A. Busch Memorial Conservation Area.
MDC naturalists will hold nighttime hayrides Friday, Oct. 27, through the dynamic natural habitats on the nearly 7,000-acre conservation area. Visitors will get a chance to explore the sights and sounds of Busch Conservation Area’s nocturnal residents. Rides will depart from the visitor center at 5:45, 6:00, 6:30, and 6:45 p.m. They will last about 45 minutes.
Riders might have the opportunity to see or hear owls, coyotes or deer. There may also be waterfowl inhabiting the area’s wetlands. Each ride will be guided by a MDC naturalist who will explain and interpret the sights and sounds along the way.
The hayrides are free, but advanced registration is required by calling 636-441-4554. Participants are encouraged to dress appropriately for the weather. Accommodations for visitors with disabilities are also available with advanced notice.
