Warrenton, Mo.—The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) has restored normal operating hours at its unstaffed shooting range at the Reifsnider State Forest in Warren County. The range had been closed during the week for the past two months to accommodate a construction project on the site. The project has recently been completed.
The range's hours of operation are Tuesday through Saturday from 1/2 hour before sunrise until 1/2 hour after sunset. The range is closed Mondays until noon for routine maintenance, after which it is open for public use until 1/2 hour after sunset.
During the construction period, MDC installed a new boundary fence and constructed a new containment basin behind the backstop.
The Reifsnider range offers target distances from 25-100 yards for rifle and pistol shooters. There is no fee to use the range.
Reifsnider State Forest is located southeast of Warrenton. It can be reached by taking Route M east 2.5 miles, then going 3 miles south on Schuetzenground Road.
