WARRENSBURG Mo -- A turkey hunter seminar for youths ages 8 to 17 will be offered from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 27, at the University of Central Missouri trap and skeet range in Warrensburg. The range is located west of 501 Road and Division Road.

The J.A.K.E.S Outdoors event is sponsored by the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) and Stealth Gobblers Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation. The event is free, but space is limited and pre-registration is required by Aug. 22. Youths 13 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Lunch will be provided.

Activities will include trap shooting, shotgun patterning, game calling, archery and fishing skills. Shotguns and ammunition will be available. But young hunters are encouraged to bring their own firearms and ammunition that they plan to use for the upcoming fall turkey hunting season.
